Know An Item Will Sell Before Buying eBay Inventory
Most eBay sellers and Amazon sellers biggest fear is spending a bunch of money in inventory that doesn't sell. What if I told you there's a way to know fairly certainly if a particular product or niche will sell on eBay before you even buy inventory? Pretty cool right? You can. There's a program out there called Terapeak. What it does is pull eBay sales data. There's a ton of data the program pulls such as who your top 20 competitors are, the best day of the week to list your item, the best time of day to list your item, and the best keywords to use in your title.
In this post however what were concerned with is know two things. How much sells of a given product in a week, and the sell through rating. The first piece of data is just overall sales. Say for example your selling silicone spatulas. We want to know how many Dollars worth of silicone spatulas were sold in a given week.
The next piece of data we want to know is what is the sell through rating. The sell through rating refers to the percentage of successful listings which were sold. For example if 1,000 silicone spatulas were listed but only 900 sold, that gives us a 90% sell through rating.
In this video below we show you how to use a program called Terapeak to pull this data and analyze whether a product is worth selling on eBay before we go shelling out any money on inventory.
